Work Experience

Director, User Experience

Fidelity Investments: December 2022 – Current

In my role as the Director of User Experience at Fidelity Investments in the Save and Spend domain, I have been leading initiatives focused on enhancing user experiences for our flagship product, the Cash Management Account (CMA).

My primary goal has been to audit and redefine the user experience of our CMA —the Fidelity alternative to a traditional banking account. In addition to focusing on our customers growing needs for competitive savings products, the experiences that support them also needed to be re-evaluated to help increase adoption, exceed customers’ expectations, and provide the best spending and saving experience.

I routinely work across domains to align user experiences while shaping the user experience strategy. By prioritizing the user, UX research, usability, functionality, and market competition, I have aimed to deliver a user-friendly and intuitive experience that meets the evolving needs of our users.

Product Design Lead

Embark Veterinary: February 2022 – December 2022

As the product design lead at the pet genetics-focused health startup, I worked on design and service strategies to connect the company's best-in-class canine DNA products to veterinary professionals. A main focus was to achieve seamless integration from the genetic platform data with other veterinary practice tools, workflows, and operations to provide a bigger picture of pet health.

Working alongside the internal marketing teams, I also helped manage the consumer-facing digital experiences of the company's veterinary web-experience to streamline account acquisition and conversion to the veterinary product.

Experience Design Lead

Johnson & Johnson: August 2021 – February 2022

At J&J I worked with various internal teams in the procurement and accounts payable businesses to operationalize changes through service design and interface updates.

Through user journeys, storyboards, and design workshops I lead business partners through various transformations to accommodate a changing landscape with evolving needs.

As a UX and design practitioner I leveraged Atomic Design to bring consistency in visual languages, high-fidelity prototyping for proof of concept demos, usability testing, and strategizing with development teams and business leaders.

User Experience Lead

Takeda Pharmaceuticals: August 2020 – August 2021

I lead the UX team and build digital health products with company partners across the globe. At any given time, I’m engaged in multiple complex projects while overseeing the experience design and strategy throughout development of all product experiences. And while I take my leadership role seriously, I am intentionally and intensely involved in the work—from helping identify user needs, to producing wireframes and design libraries, prototypes and integration strategies, and everything in-between—I’m here to build important stuff.

I am primarily focused in the rare disease space on companion apps for existing biologic treatments and specialize in data visualization, prototyping, and being the person who takes the time to listen.

Director of Experience Design

Carter Edwards & Co.:

October 2019 – August 2020

At this small Boston-based tech agency start-up (which was recently acquired by A&G) I worked with client partners in multiple industries to help shape, realize, and test experiences to ensure they meet proper standards and achieve business goals. We infused innovative thinking and helped some of the biggest brands in the world implement inclusive new products and processes. Examples include reimagining customer experiences for two of your favorite fast-casual eateries that are still in practice today and auditing a global health company’s online experiences for accessibility.

With 10 years knowledge of micro UX practice and prototyping capability, I’m fluent in all of the mainstream industry tools and many tech platforms—and brought an expert-level understanding of how they can work together to create exceptional, accessible experiences for all.

User Experience Director

Fidelity Labs, Fidelity Investments: September 2017 – October 2019

At Fidelity Labs I was design lead on two different financial product start-ups in an incubator-like innovation environment. In addition to product UX and UI strategies for internal as well as consumer-facing products, I was accountable for implementation. In this role, I was in charge of scoping and estimating design efforts in conjunction with the strategy teams and development leads. With no formal financial industry experience, I learned and translated the complex and intense language of finance into ‘first-of-their-kind’ digital experiences still used by financial professionals at Fidelity today.

Together with our SCRUM teams, we maintained the backlog in three-week sprints over the course of two years until the product successfully launched to market.

Manager, Experience Design

Publicis Sapient: April 2015 – September 2017

While at Sapient, I was a manager, mentor, and thought leader; introducing/integrating new prototyping tools and approaches to the UX team.

I led UX design projects for John Hancock, State Street Global Advisors, Allianz GI, Petco, and Schick. Aside from client-focused work, I was very involved with the interns and junior designers as they were navigating their early careers.

Creative Director

Vital Design: October 2014 – March 2015

At this fast-growing digital agency, we specialized in creating modern design templates that were easy for clients to manage via CMS, and focused on experience over all else. I introduced prototyping tools and modular design approaches to elevate overall services for clients and expedite development.

I also logged hours as a web designer and creative director when needed, working with brands such as Lindt, NESCOE, and Southern NH University.

Director of Web Design

SilverTech, Inc: April 2012 – October 2014

At this tech and marketing agency, I was responsible for all client digital experiences from beginning to end, ensuring the production met standards from design to final website delivery. I also brought the UX practice to SilverTech and built up the capability and team. My successful projects include UX and UI design for a proprietary server analysis product for Dell.

In parallel, I was the team lead for both the design and front-end development teams, always working for better design and development partnership.

Senior Designer

wedü / TAG: January 2007 – April 2012

At wedü, as senior designer of a three-person design team, I was responsible for most conceptual and finished artwork for our experiential and environmental design services for clients such as Disney, Hasbro, and Toyota.

At TAG (formerly Printers Square) the majority of the work was physical or print, but I also worked on many interactive campaigns launched in the early days of Facebook for products like Jabra, and Reader’s Digest at wedü.

Book Designer

GEX, Inc: October 2002 – December 2007

At GEX, a regional publishing house for textbooks, I was a page layout and cover designer for various higher education companies like Peachpit Press, Prentice Hall, Pearson Education, and McGraw Hill.

Instructor / Facilitator

Goodbrain Academy: June 1999 – January 2002

At Goodbrain, I worked with the program director to create sprint-like design classes to help accelerate an education in the visual arts.

I also taught many classes about design basics and layout practices focusing on design principles and fundamentals of communication arts.
